About The Position

This placement opportunity includes a comprehensive orientation and training program across various Food and Beverage departments. The program is designed to provide a thorough understanding of American service standards, operational management, staff training, and cost control strategies within the hospitality industry. The duration of the program is approximately 13 months, starting with a one-month orientation followed by specialized training in Restaurant Supervision (4.5 months), Cafe Supervision (3 months), and In-Room Dining Supervision (4 months). The goal is to develop individuals into capable F&B Supervisors.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry.
  • Hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA).
  • 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA).
  • Shown consistent career growth over the last years.
  • Shown serious commitment to most recent employers.

Responsibilities

  • Receive orientation to the company, local community, payroll, and computer systems.
  • Learn American service standards and point-of-sale computer systems.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of the restaurant, cafe, and in-room dining.
  • Assist in daily pre-shift meetings and support/assist staff.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to employees.
  • Learn and implement upselling techniques, sidework assignment and control, and ordering procedures.
  • Understand food and beverage cost control strategies, labor cost control, and staffing/scheduling procedures.
  • Learn revenue reporting, employee gratuity distribution, and payroll procedures.
  • Perform opening and closing duties.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members.
  • Oversee daily floor operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Support onboarding and training of new staff.
  • Delegate tasks to team members based on shift needs.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide real-time feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to cafe policies and standards.
  • Assist in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Provide daily direction, support, and motivation to in-room dining associates.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team for seamless communication.
  • Deliver a positive and friendly attitude to all guests.
  • Promptly and accurately deliver room service orders, ensuring proper presentation and quality.
  • Learn all menu items, ingredients, and allergens.
  • Assist in garnishing and plating meals, portioning desserts, and ladling soup.
  • Follow all food handling and sanitation guidelines.
  • Adhere to alcohol service laws and ABC board regulations.
  • Accurately report gratuities and follow all company policies regarding tipping and compensation.
  • Complete all assigned side work duties.
  • Efficiently break down setups at the end of each shift and ensure proper storage and cleanliness.
