About The Position

The Food & Beverage Receiving Assistant is responsible for receiving, inspecting, stocking, and documenting all incoming food and beverage shipments. This role involves working closely with the Receiving Clerk, Chefs, Front of House Managers, and vendors to ensure the accuracy and quality of received products, while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Requirements

  • Understanding of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
  • Knowledge of different types of beverages, including liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, their characteristics, and proper storage requirements.
  • Familiarity with inventory management principles, such as FIFO (first in, first out).
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and techniques to inspect incoming shipments for freshness, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Understanding of effective communication techniques to interact with fellow ambassadors, vendors, suppliers, and to document and report any issues or discrepancies.
  • Strong attention to detail to accurately inspect incoming shipments, record data, and identify any discrepancies or quality issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records, manage inventory effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to receiving operations, inventory management, and procurement data entry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including kitchen staff, food and beverage managers, and vendors, to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in receiving and data entry processes.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as stand and walk for extended periods during receiving activities.
  • Basic customer service skills to interact with vendors and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any concerns or issues effectively.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure timely processing of shipments and data entry.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in shipping and receiving or other related positions.
  • State of California approved current Food Handlers Card
  • Culinary School graduate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect all incoming food and beverage deliveries, verifying the accuracy of quantities, items, and specifications against purchase orders and delivery documents.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Accurately record and document all received shipments, including quantities received, condition of products, and any discrepancies or damages observed.
  • Update inventory records and systems with received quantities and ensure proper storage and rotation of products in accordance with FIFO (first in, first out) principles. Match Purchase Orders to invoices and relay any variances to the Receiving Clerk and Department Supervisor.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff, food and beverage managers, and other relevant personnel to ensure timely and efficient processing and storage of received items. Ensure all physical invoices are delivered to the receiving clerk to be processed in Birch Street.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to receiving, storage, and handling of food and beverage products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in receiving areas, adhering to sanitation and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges related to receiving operations, escalating concerns as needed to management.
  • Assist in stocking of product by Food and Beverage staff.
  • Maintain the Camp Lodge Loading Dock as well as receiving areas in all outlets and deliver products to their appropriate departments to ensure delivery areas are clear at all times.
  • Assist with the physical transfer of product between outlets.
