About The Position

The F&B Operations Worker is an all-encompassing role responsible for various tasks within food and beverage operations, including sanitation, purchasing, stand lead duties, and concessions work.

Requirements

  • The ability to stand for long periods of time and be physically mobile throughout the day.
  • The ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to reach with hands and arms; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and move easily from a sitting to standing position.
  • Physical and mental alertness to react in emergency situations.
  • The ability to work in extreme cold for one-third to two-thirds of the workday due to cooler and warehouse conditions.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and acknowledge every guest.
  • Respond to guest needs and requests, and address guest issues by communicating them to management or supervisors.
  • Use suggestive and upselling techniques to offer services and sell products.
  • Understand and describe menu offerings, pricing, and presentation.
  • Complete steps of service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions.
  • Assist with food and order tickets and bring food to the cashier.
  • Ensure the Point of Sale (POS) system is working correctly and take action to resolve any issues.
  • Help fellow team members with tasks as needed.
  • Complete all station set-up and breakdown tasks thoroughly.
  • Maintain service areas and displays.
  • Work flexible hours and report to work on time.
  • Prevent public and internal health problems by enforcing local and company health and sanitation standards.
  • Study and evaluate kitchen operations to ensure correct procedures and a safe level of food preparation.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility, ensuring cleanliness and health code standards are met.
  • Lead the team in preparing safe food and running a clean operation.
  • Ensure all staff follows health and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain good safety and sanitation practices.
  • Be familiar with city, state, and federal health regulations and food handling and sanitation requirements.
  • Act to avoid negative outcomes related to security, legal, and liability issues.
  • Employ proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment.
  • Accurately receive, store, and distribute products to various locations.
  • Check the quality and freshness of all products, especially perishable items.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and note any discrepancies.
  • Rotate stock in the warehouse and cooler using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method.
  • Deliver products to kitchens and storerooms.
  • Help with inventory and product management for the stand.
  • Record inventory for various locations accurately and in a timely manner before, during, and after events.
  • Supervise and train team members.
  • Energize the team by providing a positive outlook.
  • Communicate effectively and instill a culture of openness and teamwork.
  • Help train and cross-train cashiers and other associates.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Keep department managers and chefs informed of any significant problems or unusual matters so that prompt corrective action can be taken.
