About The Position
Americhem is hiring an Extrusion Operator I at its Liberty, North Carolina manufacturing facility. The role operates and monitors equipment, makes basic adjustments and setups, and supports production of plastic compounds and color concentrates. The operator checks product quality, records production information, assists with basic troubleshooting, completes routine cleaning and machine care, and moves materials with a forklift or tow motor when needed. Employees receive training and support to work safely in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturing, production, machine operation, extrusion, plastics, or industrial experience.
- Forklift or tow motor experience.
- Mechanical or hands-on experience.
- Experience working with production equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production equipment.
- Make simple adjustments to keep production running smoothly.
- Assist with machine setup and changeovers.
- Check products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Collect samples and complete basic production records.
- Help identify and resolve basic equipment or production issues.
- Complete routine cleaning and basic machine care.
- Use a forklift or tow motor to move materials when needed.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures.
- Work with team members to support production and continuous improvement.
