About The Position

The Extruder Helper supports the efficient, safe, and uninterrupted operation of extrusion equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Supervisor, this role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork. The position is based at the Plant City, Florida facility and follows a rotating schedule of four days on and four days off, working either 6:45 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 6:45 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

The role assists machine operators, carries out light and preventive maintenance, and uses standard hand tools. Employees must be able to read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, safety postings, bulletin boards, and computer screens. The work involves 12-hour shifts, extended periods of standing and walking, climbing, and lifting and carrying products weighing up to 50 pounds. Required PPE includes face shields, earmuffs, gloves, and steel-toe shoes.

Requirements

• Ability to adhere to strict PPE requirements, including wearing face shields, earmuffs, gloves, and steel-toe shoes.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts while standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to climb, lift, and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift and clamp truck experience preferred; certification will be provided onsite.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators with the safe and continuous operation of extrusion equipment.
• Perform light maintenance and preventive maintenance activities, including daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
• Use standard hand tools competently and with mechanical understanding.
• Communicate effectively with operators, team members, and leadership.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, safety postings, bulletin boards, and computer screens.
