About The Position

The Extrusion role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery; monitoring the production process; and ensuring quality production while following safety guidelines, policies, and procedures. The role involves preparing wire for processing, configuring machinery to meet order requirements, checking production quality, recording production information, and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Entry-level experience.
• Follow standard operating procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Unwrap coils, baskets, or reels and properly tag them.
• Weld metal wire ends together to feed through the machine and apply insulation.
• Set up the machine according to order requirements.
• Monitor machine processes to ensure proper settings and product quality.
• Weigh completed reels, complete paperwork, and record and enter data.
• Use and read micrometers to measure wire.
• Place completed reels in the designated area.
• Communicate with supervisors and associates.
• Read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Follow plant work rules, work instructions, safety rules, and established processes, procedures, and practices.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Use tools including wire cutters, pliers, wrenches, a hammer, micrometers, and a computer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
