Bring your leadership and frontline experience to a role that helps keep our most vulnerable community members safe through the coldest months of the year. We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Extreme Weather Response Coordinator to oversee the daily operation and staffing of the Extreme Weather Response Program across multiple sites. If you’re passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness, leading a dedicated team, and making a tangible difference every day, we want to hear from you! Reporting to the Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of operations and supervision of the Extreme Weather Response Program at multiple locations. This includes maintaining appropriate staffing levels, scheduling and ensuring coverage for all shifts, performing frontline duties alongside staff, and serving as a positive role model to staff and volunteers. The role also involves participating in the training of new staff, partnering with a variety of diverse stakeholders including other social service providers and government agencies to increase community awareness of homelessness, making recommendations on the development and evaluation of the program, and overseeing program budgets and invoicing. Working under the guidance and supervision of the Manager, the Coordinator determines appropriate project staffing levels and participates in recruitment, including interviewing, candidate selection, and making hiring recommendations, while ensuring staff and volunteers are adequately oriented, trained, and supervised. The Coordinator may also prepare confidential documents on sensitive personnel matters and recommend appropriate action, supervise employees, and identify and respond to misconduct, including recommending and implementing disciplinary procedures and assisting with discharge. Other related duties may be assigned as required.
