About The Position

The Coordinator: Direct Response is responsible for supporting the fundraising programs of the Ottawa Humane Society (OHS), including providing donor stewardship, processing donations, and ensuring donor data integrity.

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year experience using Raiser’s Edge or other CRM software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English is required

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in fundraising is an asset
  • Experience working with, and managing, volunteers is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the OHS development database, donations and receipts
  • Prepare written receipts and acknowledgements
  • Provide assistance to OHS partners and donors
  • Prepare and distribute donor premiums
  • Maintain and analyze data
  • Prepare membership mailings
  • Research fundraising opportunities
  • Support OHS membership, memorial, and direct response programs
  • Serve as the development department liaison with the finance department regarding annual, monthly, and membership gifts
  • Support donor recognition and stewardship plans and activities
  • Develop queries, metrics and tracking to monitor and measure program effectiveness and facilitate donor stewardship
  • Support relationships with OHS donors and community partners
  • Assist with OHS development events and activities as required
  • Support the activities of coworkers, volunteers, students and work placements and provide orientation and training as required
  • Be thoroughly familiar with pertinent legislation, regulations, guidelines, OHS policies, procedures, and collective agreement
  • Produce and maintain accurate reports, records, and files
  • Participate in supervision, evaluation, training and other meetings as required
  • Participate in the identification and evaluation of OHS program goals and objectives
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Represent the OHS in a professional manner
  • Participate in public relations and promotional activities as required
  • May be required to assume some responsibilities of other coordinators in the department
  • May be required to assume some of the responsibilities of the Manager: Development
