About The Position

Extraction Technician I supports extraction and production operations, with a focus on preparing and weighing materials and ensuring the quality of input and output. The role requires attention to detail and an understanding of extraction equipment and science. The technician supports production in a controlled environment and follows standard operating procedures, cGMP, and Trulieve maintenance standards. The position is non-exempt and hourly, reports to the Extraction Lead and/or Supervisor, and is scheduled for 40+ hours weekly, with flexible hours depending on department needs. Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required. The role is not remote. Salary is commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, is offered.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old, or at least 18 years old in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
Controls and instrumentation experience.
Ensure timely return from breaks.
Work in a fast-paced, controlled environment and with chemicals, oils, and sharp objects.
Able to lift 50 lbs and meet the stated pushing, pulling, moving, and carrying requirements.
Able to work under minimal supervision and pressure, and manage changes in the work schedule.
Outstanding communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Work in close proximity to cannabis flower and particulates daily.
Able to work seated or standing at workstations for extended periods and perform the listed climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and frequent or constant hand and finger movements.
Able to handle organic matter daily and wear appropriate PPE.
Visual acuity with or without job aids for reading, computer viewing, and visual inspection; clarity of vision at 20 feet or more in day and night/dark conditions.
Proven mechanical and problem-solving aptitude.
Able to communicate verbally at conversational levels with coworkers and leadership.
Able to work in an environment with continuous low-level equipment sound (moderate noise).
Available for 40+ hours weekly, with flexible hours and occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Experience entering information in SAP, Emaint, or state-mandated systems such as Metrc, Biotrack, or MJ Freeway.

Responsibilities

Perform incoming inspections of flower and pre-roll material batches, including checks of moisture, texture, overall quality, and size through sorting.
Ensure bud size meets brand standards; weigh and package flower, fresh frozen material, and/or trim during and after machine operation.
Perform auxiliary tasks such as filling socks, retrieving material, and monitoring ovens, while supporting the Extraction Technician II in operations.
Learn to perform basic machine setup, inventory documentation, and observation and recording of operating metrics.
Conduct and document routine equipment checks and minor adjustments during operations.
Complete required paperwork, checks, and preventive maintenance documentation; report equipment issues to leads and Facilities and Maintenance.
Verify that the sealing machine operates correctly and that seals meet standards.
Perform equipment, supply, and area cleaning; complete verification paperwork and use PPE in accordance with cGMP and Trulieve maintenance standards.
Maintain detailed records of completed tasks for documentation and traceability.
Collaborate with Facilities and Maintenance and leadership to resolve documentation issues and questions.
Monitor equipment performance against SOPs, address issues, and escalate anomalies or concerns to Extraction Technician II or III.
Notify leads of quality, machine-operation, and material challenges and report fixes performed.
Attend to other job duties as assigned by management.
