About The Position

The Bowen Summer Public Interest Fellowship is a program designed for law students who wish to dedicate ten weeks to full-time work in the public sector. The fellowship is funded by Wilson & Associates and provides a stipend of $6,000 to selected fellows. Applicants are responsible for securing their own public service experience with a reputable public interest employer, with a preference given to those working with organizations that cannot offer compensation. An additional fellowship is available for students interested in working in an Arkansas rural community, with similar application responsibilities and preferences. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed at least two semesters of full-time law school study (or equivalent credits for part-time students).
  • Applicants who dedicate their time to organizations that cannot compensate them.

Responsibilities

  • Students will work full-time for 12 weeks with a public service organization during the summer months
