We are seeking a highly motivated External Affairs Intern to join our team in The Bridgewater, NJ office. This role is hybrid.

Requirements

• Open to majors including: Public Relations, Public Policy, Communications, Journalism, Digital/Social Media, Psychology/Sociology, and Scientific-focused majors such as pre-med, pharmacy, nursing, etc.
• Targeting rising Juniors, entering their Senior year, and above.
• Skills to include creative problem-solving.
• Interest in human and consumer behavior.

Nice To Haves

• Personal interest in the sciences and medicine is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Executive Director, External Affairs to execute on projects related to several areas, including Advocacy, Public Policy, Government Affairs, and Community Engagement.
• Engage in external-facing activities such as joining calls with Professional Societies and Advocacy Organizations.
• Work on federal legislative priorities.
• Contribute creatively to educational materials.
• Consider how Lexicon can continue to be a part of the communities it serves.
• Collaborate with internal partners, primarily from the Medical and Human Resources teams.
• Gain exposure to working with agencies.
