About The Position

This is a full-time, two-year term position located at the OSU Extension office in Mansfield, Ohio, covering Richland County, with additional duties in other counties as needed. The role teaches nutrition and related topics to low-income youth and/or parents or caregivers of youth participating in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), using standardized teaching materials in a variety of community settings. This grant-funded position is renewable by the sponsoring agency and by Ohio State University. The employee must have their own transportation.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of relevant experience.
Must have own transportation.

Certification or vocational training may be preferred.
2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach nutrition and nutrition-related topics to EFNEP participants using standardized teaching materials.
Recruit program groups by networking and collaborating with individuals, community agencies, schools, and organizations.
Use surveys to assess adults and youth before and after the lesson series.
Participate in staff development and training opportunities to increase knowledge of nutrition topics and effective recruitment and teaching methods.
Perform related work as required.
