About The Position

Avantor is looking for an Export Warehouse Specialist to plan, schedule, and coordinate the supply, material flow, and storage of inventory from the supplier to the customer. They will control the flow of materials and/or products to ensure arrival according to schedule and specifications to maximize efficiency. The Export Warehouse Specialist will work with field support and customer service to ensure that customer requirements are met. They will also work with outside vendors to negotiate and coordinate delivery of required inventory. This is a full-time position based out of our Bridgeport, NJ location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Logistics areas or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in transportation and logistics.
  • Experience using ERP.
  • Microsoft Office and computer skills-mainly in Excel (dynamic tables and formulas).
  • Leadership, analytical & communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally.
  • Strategic thinking and engagement.
  • Ability to focus on results and conflict management skills.
  • Understanding of warehouse operation.
  • Emphasis on safety is extremely important.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to ensure efficient operation.
  • Coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that the maintenance program is followed up.
  • Supervises checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures and policies are followed.
  • Verifies required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.
  • Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage.
  • Creates and maintains database for transportation logistical information data.
  • Acquire, collects and maintains pertinent data for transportation analysis and modeling.
  • Implements and maintains inbound/ outbound routing guides and supplier compliance program.
  • Primary liaison between warehouse and transportation.
  • Weekly and monthly analysis of transportation spends.
  • Works with sales to ensure system freight terms are aligned with contractual obligations.
  • Identifies areas of opportunity to decrease costs and improve service.
  • Works with sales to reduce transportation expense and enhance freight recovery performance.
  • Obtains the proof of delivery and/or goods receipt (GR) from customers or carriers to submit them to account receivables department on a timely basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
