About The Position

The Export Specialist will be responsible for preparing documentation, tracking cargo, communicating with customers and vendors, and ensuring profitable and efficient freight movement. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. The specialist will also play a key role in customer satisfaction by providing excellent service execution and accurate information regarding freight disposition.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two to three years related experience.
• Knowledge of personal computers.
• Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of the Import/Export industry preferred.
• At least one year industry experience preferred.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both customers and internal personnel.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be career oriented, hardworking, quick learner and have excellent recall for past events/situations/numbers.
• Professional certification may be required in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare documentation, dock receipts, bills of lading, and export declarations.
• File SED's (Shippers Export Declarations).
• Track and trace cargo to ensure proper movement and delivery.
• Provide accounting department with proper and correct billing information.
• Communicate with customers regarding freight disposition, including tracking & tracing, routing & dispatching, and rate quotations.
• Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
• Correspond with other Company branches and agents for customer satisfaction and excellent service execution.
• Identify the most profitable mode of shipment while meeting customer requirements for freight movement.
