About The Position

The Export Sales Officer supports stages of the business development process, working collaboratively in a professional, customer-focused capacity. They ensure export opportunities are advanced consistently across a range of standard contracting and risk management considerations.

Requirements

  • Completion of university degree in commerce, business, marketing, public administration
  • Minimum of two years of experience in client-facing function in sales, marketing, or business development
  • Knowledge of export contracting, pricing, documentary credit, financing and risk analysis theories and principles
  • Knowledge of due diligence, general risk management practices, and international trade
  • Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, regulations, and guidelines
  • Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
  • Bilingual in both office languages imperative (B-B-B)

Responsibilities

  • Supports business development directors in the provision of contracting services for sales to foreign governments, international agencies, and foreign private sector buyers on behalf of Canadian exporters
  • Utilizes and maintains customer relationship management (CRM) platform
  • Coordinates and leads assigned projects, guides and tracks internal processes and requirements including integrity compliance, human rights evaluation, due diligence assessments, documentation and reporting preparations, and internal and external reviews and approvals
  • Works collaboratively with others, applies macro level analytical and risk management skills to the assessment/mitigation of risks for export projects; work collaboratively with exporters and internal stakeholders to develop risk mitigating alternative arrangements
  • Certifies transactions with respect to technical and managerial capacity of the exporter
  • Undertakes developmental assignments of varying risks and complexities, research local and international business practices and procurement rules, and assess varying levels of risk
  • Prepares initial drafts of correspondence and documentation to support the project pursuit including marketing, introductory and covering letters, and supports the business development directors in the preparation of MOUs
  • Facilitates transmission of key project documents among suppliers, buyers, and internal colleagues
