About The Position

The Export Associate plays a crucial role in facilitating the efficient movement of goods from our facility to international markets. This position will involve managing the documentation, logistics, and internal communication associated with exporting products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining effective coordination between various departments and external partners. Training will be scheduled from 6:00 to 14:30; after that, it is expected to overlap with other Export Associate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and Spanish language
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend documents such as graphs/flow sheets, financials, general professional articles and publications, governmental regulations, safety rules, assignment sheets, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures, and other administrative forms.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in both individual and group settings.
  • Must be able to present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups including residents, employees, managers, and the general public.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure such as whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and fractions.
  • Compute rate, discounts, ratios, and percent.
  • Make, read, and interpret financials, graphs, rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Apply common sense and judgment in solving problems and interpreting and understanding instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action yet reason when to involve supervisor.
  • Basic computer knowledge with the ability to learn software.
  • Display strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deal with frequent interruptions.
  • Basic office skills such as phone skills, voice mail, copying, faxing, typing, and directing visitors.
  • Ability to function independently given assigned duties.
  • Able to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high-level process issues.
  • Ability to motivate, train, and coach employees to encourage optimum performance and engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year experience in shipping and/or logistics preferred
  • Export experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage all required export documentation, including government documents, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping instructions, and bills of lading.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to comply with international regulations and customs requirements.
  • Collaborate with government office and QC to ensure adherence to export controls, trade compliance, and licensing regulations.
  • Coordinate with shipping and logistics partners to ensure the transportation of goods to their final destinations.
  • Communicate with sales and transportation to ensure smooth export processes.
  • Track and monitor load status and communicate any issues that arise.
  • Stay updated on international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures to ensure adherence during the export process.
  • Complete and submit customs declarations and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Act as a point of contact between various internal departments (production, sales, finance) and external stakeholders (suppliers, customs authorities, shipping agents).
  • Communicate shipment details, delivery schedules, and any potential disruptions to relevant parties.
  • Maintain organized records of export documentation, shipping details, and compliance records for auditing and reference purposes.
  • Generate reports on export activities, shipping costs, and timelines as required by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
