About The Position

Morrie's Auto Group is hiring an Experienced Technician for Mike Miller Kia in Peoria, Illinois. The role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems and components, testing vehicles and systems, inspecting critical parts, and preparing vehicle damage repair estimates. Technicians may use diagnostic equipment, power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools. Requirements

• A clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• If entry-level, working knowledge of cars is highly preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and on Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair problems with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and similar systems.
• Test systems and components to check that they are secure and working properly.
• Drive vehicles for testing purposes or use equipment such as hand-held and onboard compression gauges and diagnostic computers.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy when diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Follow a checklist to examine each critical part of the vehicle.
• Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other potentially troublesome items.
• Use power tools such as pneumatic wrenches to remove bolts.
• Use machine tools, such as grinding machines and lathes, to rebuild brakes.
• Use common hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers to work on small-scale parts.
• Write vehicle damage repair estimates.
