About The Position

Carvana is hiring an Experienced Heavy Body Technician to perform extensive bodywork on multiple vehicle panels and train other autobody technicians. The role works in a high-tech vehicle Inspection Center using state-of-the-art tools. The position is available on first and second shifts. Required overtime is a key part of the business strategy, and employees must be able to work mandatory overtime based on business needs. The technician performs heavy plastic welding and stapling; heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding; roof and rocker panel repair; and large-area heavy bodywork, including Bondo repair. Carvana describes its vehicle Reconditioning Centers as places where vehicles are inspected, perfected, and photographed before being listed on its website. Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes with exposure to excessive heat or cold.
Use safety equipment that may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must pass a complete background check.
Must be able to work mandatory overtime based on business needs.
