About The Position

Carvana is hiring an entry-level Auto Body Repair Technician (Autobody Prepper) to perform light bodywork on vehicles at a high-tech Inspection Center. Tasks include prepping, sanding, and buffing vehicles; removing and installing bumpers; minor plastic welding; and small-area bodywork, including Bondo repair. Entry-level employees may receive training programs intended to help their skills and pay progress. The role is offered with first- and second-shift availability. Carvana reconditions, inspects, perfects, and photographs vehicles before they are listed for sale. Applicants must pass a complete background check. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 1 year of professional automotive bodywork experience.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license; some positions may require a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes exposed to excessive heat or cold.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Successful completion of a complete background check.

Responsibilities

Prep, sand, and buff vehicles.
Remove and install bumpers.
Perform minor plastic welding.
Perform small-area bodywork, including Bondo repair.
