About The Position

As a new home construction Carpenter, you will build, assemble, install, and repair residential construction components for new home construction and remodeling projects. The work includes framing, structural, and finish carpentry, and requires reading blueprints and construction documents, measuring and cutting materials, and safely operating hand and power tools. You will work with a residential carpentry crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

The Carpenter constructs, assembles, and repairs building materials and components. The role involves working with tools, measurements, and construction plans, handling materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and collaborating with team members to complete projects on time.

QXO is a distributor and installer of building products whose mission is to modernize the industry through advanced technology and customer experience. It distributes and installs insulation, roofing products, lumber and building materials, and waterproofing products.

Requirements

• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, organized, and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy materials as required, up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in carpentry or a related trade.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or related environments.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine project requirements.
