About The Position

Carvana is hiring an Experienced Auto Painter to prepare and paint vehicles at a high-tech Inspection Center in Houston, Texas. The role requires professional automotive painting experience and skill with base coats, tri-coats, solid and metallic paints, and clear coats, as well as blending adjacent panels and paint correcting vehicles. The position is listed for the 2nd shift. Carvana offers training programs for entry-level employees so that skills and pay can progress with the company. The company describes its vehicle reconditioning centers as places where cars are inspected, perfected, and photographed before being listed on its website. Employment is contingent on passing a complete background check, and the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional automotive painting experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age and a valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a motor vehicle records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes exposed to excessive heat or cold.
Ability to use safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must pass a complete background check.

Responsibilities

Blend adjacent panels.
Paint correct vehicles.
Work in a fast-paced, changing production environment and support customer delivery commitments, including working mandatory overtime based on business needs.
Operate vehicle equipment and tools while following safety requirements.
