About The Position

The Tooling Expeditor is responsible for supporting production with correct supplies, tools and equipment. This role involves supporting machine set up by supplying print plates, cutting dies and ink, and monitoring, reporting, and controlling all tooling damage. The position also requires the ability to work with and repair print plates and cutting dies, with flexibility to work on converting machines when required. Additionally, the Expeditor is responsible for organizing ink racks, die racks, and print plates, and maintaining housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience working in corrugated manufacturing plant as tooling or production support
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Working knowledge of product layouts and production specifications
  • Working knowledge of product quality specifications
  • Working knowledge of quality standards

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support machine set up by supplying print plates, cutting dies and ink
  • Monitor, report and control all tooling damage
  • Ability to work and repair print plates and cutting dies
  • Flexibility to work on converting machines when required
  • Organize ink racks, die racks, print plates and keep up with housekeeping
  • Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
