About The Position

Hospice of Wichita Falls is seeking compassionate nurses to join their Expansion Team. The organization has been serving North Texas for over 40 years as the only non-profit community-based hospice, providing services in 12 counties. They offer care in various settings including private homes, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and a 24-bed inpatient center. Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
• Recipient of a current license by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
• Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns/and problems of terminally ill patients in a home setting.
• Possess critical thinking skills.
• Compassionate
• Effective Communication both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all patients visited have their nursing needs addressed or determine the need for other team members to assist.
• Assist the patient or family in determining the best plan of care that meets their needs.
• Direct other team members and ensure they are exceeding patient expectations.
• Document care provided and ensure team members are also documenting their care.
• Paint a picture of the patient through documentation so other team members are aware of expectations and what is currently working.
• Focus on the patient's greatest need and providing "Care, Hope, and Support for all when Illness threatens life."
• Ensure the patient's experience becomes their loved one's memory.
