About The Position

Smile Brands is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) / Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support its Castle Dental team in Knoxville, Tennessee. Candidates with expanded-functions experience are especially welcome, as are experienced RDAs with strong clinical skills, upbeat energy, and a patient-first mindset. The position supports dentists in delivering efficient, comfortable patient care and contributes to maintaining safe, organized clinical operations. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and one Friday per month, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Compensation is $19–$21 per hour for an RDA or $28–$30 per hour for an EFDA. Benefits depend on employment status and hours worked.

Requirements

Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential.
Dental radiology (X-ray) certification.
Current CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain it before the start date.
Knowledge of dental terminology and infection control standards.
Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures while supporting efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop dental X-rays as needed.
Sterilize and prepare instruments and treatment rooms in accordance with infection control protocols.
Educate patients about oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and dental procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records and update charts.
