About The Position

Provides a variety of support to the Exhibits Program, including safeguarding building entrances/exits, answering questions from the public, assisting with processing competitive entries, and installing/dismantling exhibit structures and props. This is a seasonal/temporary position not to exceed 122 days.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Previous experience working with the public.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills.
• Strong teamwork skills a must.
• Must be available to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair (mid July- mid August).
• Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as required by events and programs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous knowledge and/or experience working with Garden & Floral competitions.
• Previous knowledge and/or experience with Gardening/Horticulture preferred.
• Some clerical experience preferred, including the ability to type, file, and answer phones.

Responsibilities

• During events, safeguards exhibit and watch building entrances and exits.
• Provides information about the exhibit to the public and answers questions about the exhibit, the event, and the property.
• May set up or arrange competitive entries for the exhibition.
• May clean a variety of exhibit structures and props, prepare them for use, install them where instructed, and dismantle them at the end of an event.
• May be involved in receiving and preparing competitive entries for judging, and assists in the judging process as needed.
• May provide basic clerical assistance as needed.
• Dismantles competitive exhibits and returns entries to the public at the end of the event.
