About The Position

The Parking Attendant ensures the safe and efficient flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic entering and exiting fairgrounds parking lots. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days. TO APPLY PLEASE VISIT: www.ocfair.com/jobs

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
Ability to adapt to change
Ability to respond with patience in difficult interactions with fair patrons
Excellent teamwork skills.
Must be able to quickly learn the layout of the fairgrounds and general fair information.
Must be available to work 23 days of the annual OC Fair.
Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
Must be able to follow verbal or written instructions
The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time while remaining alert.

Responsibilities

Directs the flow of incoming vehicle traffic into both on-site and off-site parking lots.
Interacts in a professional manner with OC Fair guest
Communicates all safety issues/concerns with Parking Attendant Lead or Parking Supervisor
Provides incoming vehicles direction to available parking spaces.
Directs outgoing vehicle and pedestrian traffic to ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic out of on-site and off-site parking lots.
Provides for the safe and efficient movement of pedestrian traffic through parking lots.
Sets up and dismantles cones and plastic/metal barricades to configure parking lots as instructed.
Follows directions of Parking Attendant Lead
Opens and closes parking lot gates as directed.
The Parking Attendant may be asked to operate a motorized golf cart to transport people and/or equipment. In such case, the employee must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid California driver’s license.
