About The Position

This is an opportunity to become a trusted partner to the Chief Executive Officer of one of the world’s leading independent biomedical research and science education organizations. As Executive Manager, Office of the CEO, you'll clear the way for the CEO to lead at full capacity in advancing Van Andel Institute's mission to improve health and enhance lives. You’ll anticipate needs before they arise, bring clarity to competing priorities, and ensure the CEO’s time and attention remain focused on the initiatives that matter most. You will partner with senior leaders, board members, donors, community leaders, and external collaborators. Success in this role requires exceptional judgment, discretion, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trusted relationships while managing sensitive information with absolute confidentiality. Requirements

  • 15+ years of executive-level administrative experience.
  • 5+ years directly supporting senior leadership.
  • A track record of managing confidential, multiple priorities across complex organizations or functions.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Refined interpersonal presence.
  • Working understanding of nonprofit governance and board operations.
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Availability for extended and occasionally unpredictable hours as the CEO’s schedule requires.
