About The Position

The Executive Assistant to the State Attorney assists the State Attorney with handling all functions of the office. From citizen and staff questions, to scheduling, and special projects, the State Attorney’s Executive Assistant is a mission critical position for the operation of the office. The successful candidate has the highest level of professionalism, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments with short deadlines. Superior communications skills are required in this position. As a go-to person within the organization, the State Attorney’s Executive Assistant may often be the first person to interact with a victim, citizen, or anyone making contact with the Office of the State Attorney. The State Attorney’s Executive Assistant must have outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to manage any issue or problem towards a solution. The State Attorney’s Executive Assistant will likely accompany the State Attorney to the Courthouse, outside events, and important meetings. This position reports directly to the State Attorney. The ideal candidate will also understand that the role of Executive Assistant may have many unknowns that a job description cannot quantify. As a result, the role requires flexibility, tireless energy for service to the community and the office, independent thought, resourcefulness, integrity, and persistence.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited four-year college or university and three years progressively responsible secretarial experience preferred.
  • Considerable secretarial or administrative experience in place of a college degree.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential.
  • Excellent communications and time management skills are crucial.
  • Background or interest in learning more about criminal justice is ideal.
