As a member of senior leadership, the Executive Director, Human Resources and Administration drives the organization's HR and administrative strategy, ensuring these functions are aligned with overall business objectives. They play a key role in developing human capital, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive and inclusive organizational culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, or a related field
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a human resources and administration management role, ideally in a unionized environment
  • In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR and administrative standards under federal jurisdiction
  • French is required; advanced proficiency in English is also required on a daily basis given the international scope of the organization and regular interactions with English-speaking colleagues, clients, and partners
  • Strategic leadership and ability to engage and mobilize teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and execute effective HR and administration strategies
  • Sound judgment, sense of responsibility, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Define the vision and strategy for human resources and administration, aligning these functions with the organization's overall objectives and advising senior leadership on organizational matters
  • Design, implement, and oversee HR policies and programs, including recruitment, training, compensation, benefits, performance management, and labour relations
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive corporate culture by promoting employee engagement, professional development, and well-being at work
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in human resources and administration, and keep policies and procedures up to date
  • Develop and manage HR and administration budgets, ensuring efficient and rigorous use of resources
  • Identify and develop key talent within the organization to ensure the continuity and sustainability of strategic functions
  • Support the organization through transformations by proposing change management strategies adapted to operational realities
  • Supervise, engage, and develop the human resources and administration team, providing inspiring leadership and clear direction
