About The Position

A premier global law firm is seeking an Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Associate Attorney to join its Atlanta office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising public and private companies, private equity sponsors, boards of directors, and executive leadership on sophisticated executive compensation, employee benefits, and ERISA matters.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of executive compensation, employee benefits, ERISA, or tax experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience advising clients on executive compensation arrangements, equity incentive plans, deferred compensation plans, and employee benefit programs
  • Experience with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, Section 409A, Section 280G, and related executive compensation and employee benefits laws
  • Experience supporting the employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, public company transactions, and corporate reorganizations
  • Experience drafting and reviewing employment agreements, equity award agreements, bonus plans, change-in-control agreements, severance agreements, and plan documents
  • Experience counseling employers regarding qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, executive compensation, and benefits compliance
  • Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated advisory matters while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Georgia bar admission required or ability to become admitted
