About The Position

The Executive Sous Chef for Sodexo’s Good Eating Company (GEC) in Durham, NC supports a modern, chef‑driven corporate dining program within a tech‑company environment known for high expectations, innovation, and elevated hospitality. Requirements

Deep knowledge of scratch cooking, seasonal ingredients, and elevated presentation standards.
Ability to mentor, coach, and inspire a culinary team in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Comfort working within an innovative tech‑company culture that values creativity, speed, and hospitality.
Experience with kitchen systems, ordering, inventory, forecasting, and food‑safety compliance.
Background supporting high‑end catering, VIP dining, or multi‑station service models.
A polished, service‑driven approach that aligns with GEC’s hospitality‑first philosophy.
Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
2 years Minimum Management Experience
2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

Oversee day‑to‑day kitchen production, ensuring consistency, quality, and smooth service across all stations.
Support the Executive Chef in crafting scratch‑made, seasonal, and locally inspired menus aligned with GEC standards.
Deliver an elevated culinary experience tailored to a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven tech‑company environment.
Assist with planning and executing VIP functions, executive dining, and high‑end corporate events.
Mentor, coach, and elevate the culinary team to maintain excellence in technique, service, and presentation.
Partner with the Executive Chef on ordering, inventory, forecasting, and adherence to Sodexo and GEC operational standards.
