About The Position

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the Deputy Commissioner of the Uniformed Services Bureau (USB). The USB is responsible for the safety of the riding public, comprised of uniformed Peace Officers and Inspectors dedicated to public safety and upholding TLC regulations. The USB manages the agency's vehicles and facilities, and oversees vehicle inspections and enforcement against unlicensed for-hire activity. The Executive Assistant will manage a broad range of administrative and operational support functions, acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and serving as a liaison to senior management on special projects. Requirements

  • Candidates must be reachable on the Principal Administrative Associate civil service list to apply.
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty.
  • Associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience.
  • Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
  • Must possess one year of administrative or supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Deputy Commissioner's calendar, including scheduling meetings and ensuring all necessary materials are prepared in advance.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings, recording minutes, and distributing follow-up actions.
  • Prioritize and respond to incoming correspondence, calls, and emails of a sensitive or confidential nature, determining the most effective course of action.
  • Assist in arranging, coordinating, and implementing events.
  • Organize and track the recruitment and onboarding process for Cadets and non-uniformed staff.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, letters, memos, and other correspondence for internal and external audiences.
  • Complete special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed.
