About The Position

The Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) provides high-level executive, operational, and strategic administrative support to the Chief Development Officer. This position serves as a trusted strategic partner to the CDO by managing priorities, coordinating departmental operations, supporting fundraising and donor stewardship initiatives, and ensuring seamless communication across internal and external stakeholders. The Executive Assistant plays a critical role in advancing the work of the Development Department through executive coordination, donor and volunteer leadership engagement, board and committee administration, project management, event support, and oversight of departmental workflow. This position serves as a professional representative of the Development Office and requires exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, initiative, discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to anticipate needs and manage complex, sensitive matters with professionalism and diplomacy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible executive administrative support experience required, including direct support to senior leadership, executive leadership, or C-suite executives.
  • Candidates with a high school diploma or GED must possess a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible executive administrative support experience.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, prioritization, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally, diplomatically, and confidently with donors, board members, executives, community partners, volunteers, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment, discretion, professionalism, and executive maturity in handling sensitive information and situations.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate needs, proactively solve problems, and ensure timely follow-through on assignments, projects, and operational responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative while maintaining strong collaboration and positive working relationships across departments and teams.
  • Strong customer service, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to serve as a professional representative of the Development Department and organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, board portal systems, donor databases, and other business technologies relevant to executive and development operations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage interruptions effectively, and maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree and/or bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Communications, Non-profit Management, Healthcare Administration or a related field.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, nonprofit development, healthcare leadership, donor relations, board administration, or executive operations preferred.
