About The Position

The Virginia Employment Commission is seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and mission-driven Executive Assistant to support the Commissioner at the center of the agency’s top leadership. In this role, you will manage the daily workflow of the executive team, coordinate high-visibility meetings and travel, handle confidential and sensitive projects, and serve as a trusted liaison to the Governor’s Office, Secretary of Labor, General Assembly, and the public.   • Completion of FOIA Officer training required within the first year of employment.
  • A valid Virginia Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) rules and regulations.
  • Experience providing administrative support and/or managing office activities for an executive, senior manager, or board in a government setting and/or with legislative activities.
  • Familiarity with Virginia state government processes such as eVA procurement, travel reimbursement, and records retention.
