About The Position

We are looking for a Strategic Marketing & Fundraising Assistant who can bridge the gap between technical engineering concepts and high-impact marketing. This is not just a social media role; it is a "Growth and Partnerships" role. You will be responsible for studying industry giants like IIBEC and ICRI to benchmark our success, while simultaneously hunting for corporate sponsors and exhibitors. Your goal is to generate excitement within the engineering community and turn potential leads into long-term partners. The ideal candidate is a "Technical Growth Hacker" who enjoys the challenge of figuring out exactly where engineers hang out online and how to speak their language. You are organized, relentless in your follow-up with sponsors, and take pride in seeing a strategy turn into a sold-out conference hall.

Requirements

  • If you don't have an engineering degree, you must have an insatiable curiosity and the ability to master complex terminologies quickly (Technical Fast Learner).
  • You understand how to move a lead through a 10-step nurture sequence (Strategic Thinker).
  • Proficiency in Canva or similar tools to create professional infographics and posters (Design Skills).

Nice To Haves

  • A background in engineering or building sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a holistic marketing strategy for the rebranding of NABIE to ABIDE.
  • Identify where engineers gather (digital and physical spaces) to ensure our message hits the right audience.
  • Create a multi-channel promotional strategy for the 2027 Conference to attract guest participants, high-level speakers, and exhibitors.
  • Study industry leaders (IIBEC and ICRI) to identify best practices in scheduling, pricing, and exhibitor engagement to ensure our conference is competitive.
  • Research and identify potential corporate sponsors and exhibitors within the building sciences and engineering sectors.
  • Draft and implement a "High-Touch" outreach strategy (7–10 touchpoints) to convert leads into confirmed sponsors.
  • Design professional sponsorship/exhibitor flyers, posters, and infographics that communicate the unique value of our conference.
  • Own the strategy and calendar for TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Manage the end-to-end newsletter process—from aggregating technical articles to monitoring data analytics and repurposing content.
  • Manage and upload "Member Spotlights" across social platforms and the website to build community authority.
  • Draft professional invitations to exhibitors and sponsors from established organizations like IBEC.
  • Aggregate industry-specific data and articles, turning them into digestible, engaging content for a highly technical audience.
  • Meticulously track project expenses and fundraising progress.
  • Maintain spreadsheets to monitor sponsorship revenue, ticket sales, and budget allocation.
  • Keep the master database and CRM updated with sponsor details, exhibitor contracts, and lead statuses.
  • Act as the "administrative anchor" by tracking deadlines for conference deliverables, tax/renewal dates, and coordinating board member accountability items.
  • Manage professional correspondence, monitor email inquiries, and ensure all administrative files are organized and accessible.
