About The Position

The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development is the primary state agency responsible for encouraging job creation, retention, and new investments within the state. The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development (CED), Office of the Secretary (OAS) is seeking an Executive Administrative Secretary to provide professional secretarial and administrative support to Cabinet Executive staff. This position will perform a variety of duties in support of our economic development team. This fast-paced role offers interesting work and the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to the Commonwealth’s growing economy, working alongside economic development team members including experienced professionals and leaders. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • One year of experience in administration, secretarial, economic development, or government services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in administration, secretarial, economic development, or government services, or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional secretarial and administrative support to Cabinet Executive staff.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, events and appointments, and prepare travel documentation as necessary.
  • Oversee file management and organization across executive staff team.
  • Transcribe, draft, proofread and revise correspondence.
  • Answer and screen calls and manage email and calendar.
  • Handle incoming mail - sorting, logging, and distributing. Coordinate outgoing mail with all departments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
