Execution Planning Advisor II - Brownfield

RWDY Inc•Spring, TX
•$127 - $127•Onsite

About The Position

The Execution Planning Advisor II supports early development of greenfield and brownfield upstream unconventional facilities and infrastructure projects. The role verifies existing facility conditions, assesses opportunities and constraints for facility reuse, develops technical bases, and prepares practical execution plans before projects transition to a Project Engineer for execution. The Advisor works across Project Development Engineering, Operations, Construction, Project Execution, Central Engineering, Surface Land, Regulatory, Project Controls, Procurement, Supply Chain, and engineering contractors. The role identifies tie-ins, constructability risks, permitting requirements, personnel and process-safety considerations, shutdown needs, and other constraints that may affect safe and efficient execution. It also provides technical oversight of contractors and guidance to junior engineers, supports project reviews and handoffs, and may assist with commissioning and startup.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical studies.
  • Prior experience in project execution and planning activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, monitor, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Working knowledge of constructability, permitting, project controls, procurement, and execution-readiness practices.
  • Strong technical-documentation, communication, organizational, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20–30% to Midland Basin field locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting upstream unconventional facilities.
  • Experience with greenfield and brownfield production facilities, facility verification, equipment reuse, process design, and field execution planning.
  • Experience developing or reviewing heat and material balances, process-flow plans, equipment designs, hydraulic balances, utility balances, controls, instrumentation, materials selection, and safety systems.
  • Experience with P&IDs, plot plans, routing layouts, pipelines, flowlines, tie-ins, shutdown planning, commissioning, and startup.
  • Experience overseeing FEED or detailed-engineering contractors.
  • Experience participating in HAZOPs or comparable process-safety reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Verify existing brownfield facility conditions, constraints, capacities, and opportunities for reuse in support of the Project Development Engineer.
  • Engage Operations to identify operability, maintainability, equipment, and facility considerations for using existing facilities with new production.
  • Document verification findings, affected systems, facility boundaries, equipment capacities, tie-in feasibility, shutdown requirements, and reuse constraints.
  • Identify brownfield risks and facility limitations early enough to inform project scope, design, cost, schedule, and execution decisions.
  • Develop preliminary execution plans for well pads, tank batteries, production facilities, flowlines, pipelines, tie-ins, and related infrastructure.
  • Develop pipeline routes and work with Construction to identify constructability concerns, routing risks, access requirements, land constraints, and execution limitations.
  • Identify demolition requirements, shutdown needs, sequencing considerations, field conditions, and risks affecting scope, schedule, cost, or safety.
  • Establish preliminary execution organizations, staffing requirements, responsibilities, and resource plans appropriate to project scope.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Construction to confirm execution strategies are practical, safe, maintainable, and constructible.
  • Monitor and lead junior engineers developing process-design specifications and technical deliverables.
  • Develop or oversee heat and material balances, design flow plans, process-equipment designs, preliminary hydraulic balances, and utility balances.
  • Develop or verify the technical basis for process controls, instrumentation, materials selection, and required safety facilities.
  • Lead or perform process-optimization studies evaluating process configurations, facility reuse, safety requirements, and potential capital or operating-cost savings.
  • Confirm project concepts align with facility conditions, applicable standards, Company methods and guidelines, project specifications, owner requirements, and execution assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain redlined P&IDs, plot plans, preliminary routing layouts, tie-in-point identification, and other field-based planning documentation.
  • Prepare field-verification packages and technical documentation for Gate Reviews and handoff to Project Execution.
  • Document design assumptions, facility constraints, execution risks, shutdown requirements, and unresolved technical issues.
  • Support drawing verification and standard-design reviews based on actual field conditions.
  • Provide technical oversight of engineering-contractor work during FEED and detailed engineering.
  • Review contractor deliverables for consistency with Company methods and guidelines, project specifications, design standards, and owner requirements.
  • Coordinate resolution of technical questions, design inconsistencies, constructability concerns, and field-condition conflicts.
  • Monitor engineering progress and deliverable quality to support execution readiness and reduce rework.
  • Perform early process-safety risk screenings and participate in Hazard and Operability Reviews for new, modified, or existing operating facilities.
  • Identify personnel- and process-safety considerations and incorporate required safeguards into technical bases and execution plans.
  • Support Gate Review inputs, Design and Execution Plan development, change documentation, permitting requirements, and execution-readiness deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Surface Land and Regulatory stakeholders on permitting, right-of-way, access, land constraints, and regulatory readiness.
  • Provide commissioning and startup assistance for new or modified facilities as required.
  • Support readiness reviews, system turnover, startup planning, and resolution of field issues.
  • Support a complete handoff to Project Execution, including transition after Gate 3, by communicating risks, assumptions, constraints, technical requirements, and readiness needs.
  • Coordinate with Project Controls on cost, schedule, planning assumptions, risk exposure, and execution-readiness forecasting.
  • Engage Procurement and Supply Chain on equipment demand, long-lead equipment, inventory availability, and material readiness.
  • Promote a collaborative team culture and contribute to process improvements that reduce rework, improve handoffs, and strengthen execution readiness.
  • Provide direction, technical guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers supporting project-development activities.
