Excel Accounting Workbook Security Specialist
About The Position
We are looking for an experienced Excel specialist to secure and protect an accounting workbook. The role involves locking all accounting formulas and calculation cells, ensuring designated data-entry cells remain editable, and protecting worksheets and the workbook structure from unauthorized changes. The specialist will also hide formulas where appropriate, ensure authorized users can still enter accounting data without affecting formulas, and review the workbook for potential formula overwrites. Additionally, clear instructions for authorized users on making future formula changes will be established. The completed workbook must be tested to confirm that regular users cannot modify protected formulas while authorized users retain the necessary access.
Requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with financial/accounting spreadsheets
- Proficiency in Excel workbook and worksheet protection
- Knowledge of formula security
- Experience working with business accounting workbooks
