About The Position

Roto-Rooter is hiring a Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for sewer and water service repairs and replacements at its East Bay branch in Livermore, California. The role operates excavation machinery on residential and commercial job sites and works with a crew to complete projects safely and efficiently. The posting states average earnings of $75,000–$100,000, depending on experience. During training, service technicians are paid $17.00–$24.00 per hour. After training, hourly pay is at or above the minimum wage for all hours worked; the rate may vary based on the type of hours worked. Technicians may also earn commissions of 16–22% of revenue, depending on revenue category, and commissions of $10–$139 for selling products and treatments.

Requirements

Construction experience on both residential and commercial projects.
Current CDL Class A license.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required.

Trenchless water, sewer, and gas experience.

Responsibilities

Operate backhoes, mini excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery to excavate and load loose materials at residential and commercial job sites.
Load, unload, and secure equipment on transport trailers according to guidelines.
Follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with a crew to complete excavation work on projects efficiently.
Interact with customers as needed, provide customer service, and address their requirements professionally.
Maintain excavation equipment and gather necessary equipment from the branch or rental companies.
Perform excavation work in confined spaces and open trenches while adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
Locate and arrive at job sites promptly, and safely drive and operate service vehicles between locations.
Complete jobs within specified timelines.
