About The Position

Roto-Rooter is hiring a Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator, especially for backhoes and mini excavators, to perform sewer and water service repairs and replacements. Operators excavate and load loose materials at residential and commercial job sites, work with crews, interact with customers, maintain equipment, and travel between job sites. First-year operators can expect to earn $85,000–$100,000 on average, with pay increasing with experience; some operators earn over $100,000 per year.

Requirements

Construction experience on both residential and commercial projects.
Current CDL Class A license.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

Operate backhoes, mini excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery to excavate and load loose materials at residential and commercial job sites.
Load, unload, and secure equipment on transport trailers according to guidelines.
Follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with a crew to complete excavation work efficiently on various projects.
Interact with customers as needed, provide professional customer service, and address their requirements.
Maintain excavation equipment and gather necessary equipment from the branch or rental companies.
Perform excavation work in confined spaces and open trenches while following safety protocols and guidelines.
Locate and arrive at job sites promptly, and safely drive and operate service vehicles between locations.
Complete jobs within specified timelines.
