About The Position

Shirley Contracting is hiring an Excavator Operator to operate heavy equipment and support projects at various jobsites. The role involves maintaining and cleaning equipment, reporting deficiencies to the foreman, and performing related manual labor. Operators are expected to meet the company’s health and safety requirements and maintain positive working relationships with customers and coworkers. This is a full-time, year-round position. Start times vary between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM; overtime, nights, and weekends may be required. Work takes place outdoors in all seasons. The base hourly pay range is $22.00–$35.00, with compensation potentially varying based on factors including education, experience, skills, and geographic location.

Requirements

Experience operating heavy equipment; an onsite try-out will be conducted.
Work outdoors in all seasons.
Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

GPS/UTS experience.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, and motor graders.
Perform general equipment maintenance, including greasing, checking fluid levels, and cleaning tracks.
Clean equipment daily.
Report equipment deficiencies to the foreman immediately.
Perform manual labor tasks related to supporting projects.
Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies, and requirements are met.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and coworkers.
