About The Position

Roto-Rooter is hiring a skilled heavy equipment operator, particularly for backhoes and mini excavators, to perform sewer and water service repairs and replacements. The role involves excavation work at residential and commercial job sites, operating excavation machinery, and working collaboratively with a crew while following safety procedures. Operators may work in confined spaces and open trenches, interact with customers, and travel between job sites in service vehicles.

Requirements

Construction experience on both residential and commercial projects.
Current CDL Class A license.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

Trenchless water, sewer, and gas experience.

Responsibilities

Operate backhoes, mini excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery to excavate and load loose materials at residential and commercial job sites.
Load, unload, and secure equipment on transport trailers according to guidelines.
Follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety procedures.
Work with a crew to complete excavation projects efficiently.
Interact with customers as needed and address their requirements professionally.
Maintain excavation equipment and gather necessary equipment from the branch and/or rental companies.
Perform excavation work in confined spaces and open trenches while following safety protocols and guidelines.
Locate and arrive at job sites promptly, and drive and operate service vehicles safely between locations.
Complete jobs within specified timelines.
