About The Position
Garney Construction is seeking an Excavator Operator for a position in Rayville, LA. This role involves operating machinery to perform various construction activities including excavating, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, looming, fine grading, and final clean up. The operator may also perform laborer duties as needed. The primary responsibilities include safely operating an excavator as part of a crew, performing operator-level maintenance on the machine, understanding safe working loads and signals, and handling trench boxes of various sizes and shapes.
Requirements
- Previous construction experience.
- Five years of construction experience operating a Cat 336 excavator or bigger.
- Firm knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance.
- Experience with trench boxes and shoring.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Must be willing to travel.
Responsibilities
- Operate an excavator safely as part of a crew.
- Perform operator level maintenance on the machine.
