About The Position

Roto-Rooter is hiring a skilled heavy equipment operator, particularly for backhoe and mini-excavator work involving sewer and water service repairs and replacements. The role involves excavation on residential and commercial job sites, working with a crew, maintaining equipment, and providing professional customer service as needed. The operator must follow OSHA and company safety procedures and work safely in confined spaces and open trenches.

Requirements

Construction experience on both residential and commercial projects.
Current CDL Class A license.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

Trenchless water, sewer, and gas experience.

Responsibilities

Operate backhoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, and other excavation machinery to excavate and load loose materials at residential and commercial job sites.
Load, unload, and secure equipment on transport trailers according to guidelines.
Follow OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with a crew to complete excavation work efficiently on various projects.
Interact with customers as needed, provide excellent customer service, and address their requirements professionally.
Maintain excavation equipment and gather necessary equipment from the branch and/or rental companies.
Perform excavation work in confined spaces and open trenches while adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
Locate and arrive at job sites promptly and drive and operate service vehicles safely between locations.
Complete jobs within specified timelines.
