About The Position

Horizon Services is hiring an Excavation Operator to join its Dig Crew and support residential plumbing projects. The role contributes to excavation projects, sewer line replacements, water line installations, and other underground utility work. The operator assists with excavation and material handling, operates or supports heavy equipment, prepares sites, and follows dig plans, job specifications, and safety procedures. This is full-time, year-round work with a primarily Monday–Friday schedule and optional weekend opportunities. Nice To Haves

• Some plumbing, sewer, or underground utility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with excavation and sewer or water line replacement projects.
• Operate and support excavation equipment, including backhoes, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
• Inspect equipment before use and ensure its safe operation.
• Read and follow dig plans, job specifications, and safety procedures.
• Understand machine capabilities and use proper excavation techniques.
• Follow grade stakes, markings, and hand signals to ensure accurate work.
• Assist with material handling and site preparation.
• Maintain a safe and professional job site environment.
