- Be calm under pressure and know how to move through chaos.
- Be strategic and hands-on, comfortable zooming out and building the flow.
- Be scarred and sharp - have failed, learned, and can see around corners.
- Be mission-aligned - want to build things that matter.
- Be humble but effective - listen more than talk, but lead from the front.
- Be founder-tuned - understand what it's like to carry the weight.
- Be adaptable to new missions or founder personalities.
- Have made calls with imperfect information.
- Enjoy coaching or working alongside other operators.
