About The Position

The EVS Tech maintains a clean and safe environment inside and outside the hospital by performing duties according to departmental techniques, procedures, and needs. The role includes cleaning assigned areas such as administrative offices, public lavatories, lounges, and public spaces; cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, glass, walls, windows, doors, bathrooms, and fixtures; collecting and disposing of refuse; and replenishing paper and soap products. The EVS Tech also maintains equipment and materials and may assist with setups and linen, mail, and general deliveries. Other duties may be assigned by the manager. The position promotes excellent customer service, appropriate standards of behavior, teamwork, direct communication, and discreet handling of confidential information. It contributes to quality improvement by identifying problems and seeking solutions, supporting patient and family satisfaction, and participating in efforts to monitor and report customer service. The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. The posting lists compensation based on experience, starting at $18.00, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus for a one-year commitment.

Requirements

Ability to communicate orally and/or in writing.
Ability to follow directions.
Ability to remain stationary and move around the work location frequently.
Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned administrative offices, public lavatories, lounges, and public areas.
Sweep, dust, dust-mop, and wet-mop floors and stairways; spot carpets and buff hard floors.
Collect and appropriately dispose of trash and refuse from work areas.
Clean, sanitize, and polish baths, lavatories, and shower and sink fixtures; restock paper and soap products as needed.
Dust, wash, sponge-mop, sanitize, and extract furniture; clean and polish glass surfaces, walls, windowsills, window frames, doors, and registers.
Scrub bathroom tiles, woodwork, lights, and vents.
Maintain equipment and materials in a clean and orderly manner.
Assist with setups and linen, mail, and general deliveries.
Vacuum and edge carpeted areas as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behavior, and encourage, coach, and monitor these standards in team members.
Promote teamwork and direct communication with coworkers, and handle confidential information discreetly and sensitively.
Identify problems and seek solutions; promote patient and family satisfaction and participate in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.
