About The Position

Under the direction of the Lead Person, the EVS Assistant performs cleaning and related duties in patient rooms, offices, and other building areas to provide a clean, sanitary, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing environment for facility customer groups. The role involves some direct contact with patients, so the assistant must understand patients’ needs throughout the lifespan, particularly their psychosocial and emotional needs, and interact appropriately with patients and others.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of cleaning experience in healthcare, hospitality, or a high-volume related environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to understand oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment as needed, including a face mask, goggles, and latex or non-latex gloves.
• Ability to work effectively independently within the role and with other team members.
• Ability to organize time and tasks and work across multiple departments while receiving direction from multiple sources.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
• Proficiency in using the internet.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital cleaning experience.
