About The Position
The Events & Programs Specialist plans, develops, and coordinates events and programming for residents and family members, creating an environment of wellness and engagement throughout the organization. The role collaborates with other departments and the broader community to provide programming. The specialist also organizes volunteers, completes resident assessments and documentation according to regulatory requirements, assists with transportation arrangements, and implements wellness activities on nursing units.
Requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with demonstrated creativity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification.
- Two years of experience in social or recreational programming in a health care setting working with residents with dementia.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning and lead creative community events and programs of interest to residents and families.
- Organize volunteers.
- Prepare activity assessments and MDS for each resident according to regulatory requirements and complete participation in Care tracker.
- Prepare progress notes according to regulatory standards.
- Assist with arranging transportation to events, programs, and field trips as necessary.
- Implement passive exercise and wellness programs on the nursing units.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
