About The Position

The Events Manager will lead the strategic development, management, and implementation of fundraising and cultivation/stewardship events for PPMM’s c3 and c4 organizations. This role involves creating and managing event budgets, reporting, and post-event analysis, and serving as a key member of event committees. The manager will supervise the Events Specialist and Event Associate positions and ensure adherence to affiliate policies, procedures, and practices. For c4 events, the role includes creating reports that conform with proper campaign contribution compliance regulations. The manager will also handle event talent, honorees, and outside consultants, and collaborate with an Event Consultant on signature events, including leading signature event meetings. Responsibilities include creating and managing the departmental events calendar, reviewing and approving vendor contracts from a business perspective, overseeing Legal’s vendor contract approval process, and ensuring timely insurance and payment of vendors. Collaboration with the Safety & Security Team for event safety is crucial. The role involves creating individual and corporate sponsorship packages, tracking event payments, and liaising with finance. Assistance with event volunteer recruitment and management, as well as on-site production, set up, and clean up for events, may be required. The Events Manager will oversee event gift entry and acknowledgments with the Operations Manager and DevOps team, and ensure quality control for events data in the database. Non-essential duties include working with and supervising volunteers/interns as applicable and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform the duties described above.
  • BA/BS degree.
  • Minimum of five years fundraising experience in a non-profit setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Outcome-driven, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Knowledge of professional practices and theories of fundraising.
  • Supervisory and team building skills.
  • Ability to prepare budgets, plans and financial reports.
  • Extremely organized, precise, and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent decision-making, priority-setting and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in high stress environment.
  • Familiarity with fundraising software.
  • High energy, flexibility, demonstrated creativity.
  • Ability to take direction and work as a team member, while maintaining a positive outlook under pressure.
  • Excellent and effective writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate professionally to major donors, staff and the public and to collaborate with diverse groups.

Responsibilities
